198. Flaming Oranje Close to signing Gonzalo Caicedo Verdú, Linked with Gonzalo Hinjola

As most of the teams in the league are enhancing their defense during the transfer season, managing to secure the services of  influential foreign recruits, Sporting Club de Goa have also jumped in with theirs. Flaming Ornaje completed the signing of  Gonzalo Caicedo Verdú from Orihuela Football Club for an undisclosed fee. Influenced by many reports from scouts and friends back in Spain, coach Oscar  backed the move with towering defender now very close to penning the deal. The 6’3 stopper will not only add teeth to the back, but also will provide the boost to the team to finish in the top half of the table or do well.

In Addition to this, there another rumor surfacing orbiting around signing of another spanish defender Gonzalo Hinjola.

THT Verdict: Highly Likely

199.  Rangdajied FC sign Lamine Tamba

The I-League debutants Rangdajied FC have roped in the services of the lanky Senegalese Lamine Tamba as a part of one year contract. Coach Santosh Kashyap has been known for a strong defensive line-up and this signing further attests that. Tamba moved to Churchill Brothers in the winter transfer window, and went on to win his maiden title with the Goan outfit. Tamba showcased exceptional performances at the back for the Red Machines, ergo impressing Santosh Kashyap, esp during the draw at the Ambedkar stadium. The side from Meghalaya also managed to retain the services of South Korean player (Ho Jun Shin) from last season.

THT Verdict: Confirmed

200.  Rangdajied United likely to sign Air India duo

Santosh Kashyap mentored side are hoping to rope in Air India players- Sandesh Gadkari and Prateek Chowdhary. Both the players will re-unite with the Delhi based coach after latter  was appointed by The Mariners after the 11/12 season. Sandesh Gadkari was once cited as answer to India’s striking woes, is all set for the change, after he had a inconsistent season with Salgaocar. Prateek, who had a injury ravaged season last time, is rumored to be very close to sign the dotted line for the Shillong Club, in hope to revive his derailed season. The defender would be a very good addition to the side, esp after Lamine Tamba was roped in too.

THT Verdict: Confirmed

201.  IMG-R League sign  37 players.

The IPL style league seems to become a reality as the project needs just seven more players to be on track. Recently joined players include – Biswajit Saha ( Mohun Bagan ) and Gouranga Biswas ( Prayag United ). After Pailan Arrows were given a green signal to participate in forthcoming I-League, its squad would be allowed to play in both the leagues with their players common in both the formats.
