Curtis is an academy product of Reading FC. He is quick, dynamic and is comfortable with the ball, opening the possibility to field him in defence as well as in midfield. Both players are comfortable in center back, right back and in defensive midfield positions.

194. Salgaocar FC unimpressed by the foreigners on trial.

Salgaocar had a few overseas players appearing on trials hoping to secure a move to Indian Football and I-League. But they failed to impress coach till now. One more foreigner joined yesterday but its unlikely that he will be signed as he also looks below par from their expectations. Salgaocar have sent invites to few reputed Foreign players to come on trial so that they can make the best use of the foreign talent to pin their hopes.

Pune FC have secured the services of Goan left winger Anthony D’Souza for the upcoming season. 26-year-old winger had an impressive federation cup campaign at the start of last season before an injury ruled him out of the majority of I-League matches. Former Sporting Club de Goa midfielder is highly rated by the Pune FC think tank and they believes his skills, knack of scoring goals and experience will be a handy addition to the Professional club.

195. Syed Rahim Nabi offered mid-season trial by MLS side Dallas United.

AIFF player of the year Syed Rahim Nabi is offered a mid season trial by Washington based MLS Franchise DC United. One of the powerhouses in MLS, DC United has won 12  titles since its inception. If Nabi can impress the team think tank during the trials, it will be a great move for the player himself and Indian Football. Nabi was in the dark zone after opting to join the IMG-Reliance league. The I-League clubs refused to sign players from the IMG-Reliance League, and the Indian Football coach Wim Koevermars was concerned about the fitness of Indian players who signed for the IPL styled league. If Nabi can get himself a deal in US, it will help him to stay fit for the season as well. But it remains to be seen whether its a marketing move or a footballing one. Sunil Chettri‘s move to MLS side Kansas City and Portugese side Sporting Lisbon B move was aimed at Indian market rather than the player. Indian Football fans will not be hoping for a repeat in Nabi’s case.

THT Verdict – Unlikely.

196. Mumbai Tigers signs Prayag United defender Chinta Chandrasekhar Rao.

Defending I-League champions Churchill Brothers are preparing their life in new season by adding strength in depth across positions. Mumbai FC defender William Colaco joins the Goan side after a poor season with Khalid Jamil’s side. Colaco had a season to forget in Mumbai with just 4 appearances under his belt. He will be looking for more playing time in a competitve Goan professional league if not in I-League. It looks like the defending champions have roped the 29-year-old as a back up option in I-League and to spearhead its defense in local leagues.
