Meanwhile Manchester United also beat West Ham at home with a similar score line. Danny Welbeck and Adnan Januzaj scored two goals in the first half and took the game away from the visitors. Ashley Young’s wonderful week continued as he scored an amazing after being coming on as a substitute in the second half. Carlton Cole scored a consolation goal in the 81st minute, but it was too little too late.

United moved up to seventh with this win, although they might drop down to eight depending on Tottenham’s result against Southampton tonight. David Moyes’ men will now face Hull and Norwich away from home in their next two games and this could be wonderful opportunity for them to cut down the lead at the top as most of the top teams will face each other during this period. West Ham on the other hand are now just one point ahead of Crystal Palace and could find themselves in the relegation zone by the end of this year if they don’t turn around this awful run of form.

David Moyes was pleased with the result and the performance of his side.

“We played well today and on another day we might have scored more but overall I am really pleased with how we played.

“I thought we had enough of the ball before the opening goal and it was certainly coming. But, the first one was a really good piece of forward play between Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck and it’s good to see Danny scoring another goal.” – The Manchester United manager said.

Moyes was also full of praise for Adnan Januzaj, who scored a wonderful goal in the first half.

“Everyone can see the talent the boy has got.

“He scored a really good goal, he’s got composure and he’s got really good feet and once again he did really well today.

“He’s making big steps because he is only 18 and he’s had a lot of games but I think he’s warranted a place. He’s creative and can beat people and we want as many of those players at Manchester United as we can.” – Moyes added.

Januzaj also received a yellow card for diving, but David Moyes felt that it was harsh decision.

“I saw it, but I believe he thought he was going to be chopped down.

“He’s been getting kicked upside down for weeks but we’ll be making sure (diving) doesn’t creep into his play.” – He said.
