Julian Draxler is one of hottest young talents in Germany at the moment. His growth as a footballer, since he was promoted to the Schalke first team back in 2010, has been nothing short of phenomenal. The 19-year-old has already won three international caps for the German national team.
A host of European clubs have been linked with a move for the Schalke midfielder. Juventus, Inter and Manchester City have scouted the youngster for a long time. Incidentally, Draxler has admitted that he would want like to play in La Liga, if he leaves Germany in the future. Following that statement, the rumour-mills started linking the teenager with a move to Real Madrid next season.
Now it seems like Chelsea and Manchester United have joined the long list of suitors. Reports in German media suggest that the English clubs are interested in landing the youngster in summer. AC Milan are also reportedly monitoring his progress.
Schalke manager, Horst Heldt, has revealed that they has received inquiries about the midfielder from European clubs, but the club has no intention of selling him.
“There has always been reported interest from international clubs. And now we have had inquiries for Julian.”
“But this is not a topic for us. A sale is not up for discussion.” – Heldt said.
Draxler is obviously pleased about the attention he is getting from top clubs around the world but the 19-year-old has said his immediate future lies with Schalke.
“It’s great to get inquiries. But I feel good at Schalke and want to take my career forward.” – Draxler was quoted in press.
