TheHardTackle brings to you the latest transfer rumors floating in the market and analyzes their possible impact to both the clubs involved in the deal.
Real Madrid interested in signing Bastian Schweinsteiger
Rumour has it, Real Madrid are all set to prepare a bid for the German midfielder that Bayern cannot refuse. The Spanish champions’ deal of €30 million shall also include Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin going the other way.
Ridiculous. Yet another transfer rumour that lacks any real substance has emerged out of nowhere. Real Madrid have made their interest in signing Schweinsteiger known for quite some time now but it cannot be taken as anything more than admiration for a quality player. Real Madrid are having their midfield full and Jose Mourinho has been pretty affirmative about his confidence in Nuri Sahin who is expected to take the baton from Alonso in the future. This deal is absolutely not happening.
Thiago Silva to stay at Milan, confirms Berlusconi
After a week full of anxiety that nearly caused anguish among the Milan circles, the club President has finally reassured the fans their defender in chief shall not be sold and that the lucrative offer from French side PSG are not to be entertained whatsoever.
Though the decision has been received with great jubilation by the Milan fans, it remains to be seen whether Berlusconi continues to please them with some much required marquee signings in the summer. So far, Milan have not showed any signs of spending big but given the club’s financial health, rejecting an offer as big as this one is definitely a sign of intent. Thiago Silva is easily one of the top three defenders in the world today and is central to Max Allegri’s plans to build a team for the future. The decision as of now should put all the concerns to rest and improve the dressing room atmosphere.
Salomon Kalou back on Arsenal’s radar
Mirror Football understands the ex-Chelsea forward, now a free agent, is keen on a move to the North Londoners. However, Arsene Wenger is believed to get rid of some of the high-earning players first to fit the Ivorian striker in the club’s wage structure.
At Chelsea, Kalou more than proved he can be a very effective squad player to have. Arsenal certainly need additions on the attacking front and one may believe with Robin van Persie and Lukas Podolski leading their attack, Kalou may once again not find a starting place should he sign for the Gunners. However, Arsenal’s injury problems are secret to none and given the fragile tendency of their forwards, Kalou is certainly a handy option to have at disposal. His experience in the English game and that he is available for free in the market only adds reasons to sign him.
Gennaro Gattuso signs for Swiss outfit FC Sion
It has been officially announced that ex-AC Milan great Rino Gattuso will join the Swiss club on a two-year deal. After a collective retirement of an entire generation of players at Milan, Gattuso is the first one to have found a new club while the others are still undecided on their future.
This is a tricky one. Gattuso barely played any first team football last season with Milan after his turbulent physical conditions and one may be far from sure whether he will once again be the player he used to be. However, Gattuso’s experience at the top flight is invaluable and having played for so many years at one of the biggest clubs in the world, he can definitely add much more to the Swiss club with his footballing wisdom. Given his temperamental nature, it will be interesting to see how successfully he can mould himself to suit to a player cum mentor role.
Liverpool prepare a €7.5 million bid for Juventus’ Milos Krasic
According to Daily Mail, Liverpool are interested in Juventus’ out of favour Milos Krasic and are reportedly preparing a bid to take the Serbian away from Italy.
Despite regularly deploying the 3-5-2 formation, Antonio Conte has found no place for the Serbian winger in his lineup and Juventus look increasingly likely to sell him to the best bidder. With the addition of Isla, Krasic is certain not to find a starting place any time soon and a player of his caliber will attract attention of a number of clubs. A wide player is needed at Liverpool after their wingers consistently failed to deliver last season but Krasic, no matter how fast, is not the best crosser in the world. However, at this stage, given Juventus’ keenness on cashing in on him makes this deal look like happening. May not materialize immediately, but this news does have some merit to it.

- Swansea City confirm the managerial appointment of Michael Laudrup.
- French side Nice have signed 24 year old midfielder Eric Bautheac.
- Fulham have signed 16 year old forward George Williams from MK Dons.
