Manchester United To Offer 50 Million Euros To Tottenham For Luka Modric

Reports in England say that Manchester United are set to table a bid of around 50 million for Croatian star Luka Modric, in the summer.

The chase resumes this summer !

THT Verdict : Modricai??i??s future has been under speculation since last year. Tottenham held on to their star midfielder after much publicized bids from Chelsea last summer. English media reports that, now Manchester United have set their sights on the diminutive Croatian. The English champions are preparing a bid of around 50 million for him come June. Unitedai??i??s lack of depth in midfield has been talked about in all quarters and Paul Scholes’ return is only a temporary solution. Wesley Sneijder was linked earlier with the Red Devils, but any move for the Dutchman failed to materialize. Modric in a recent interview said ai???Given the current situation, and particularly given the fact I don’t want a repeat of what I went through during the summer transfer window, I can say with almost 100% certainty that I’ll be staying at Tottenham until the end of the season. I would always say that, theoretically, there is a small chance I could leave, if the club receive a suitable offer and it’s one I wouldn’t want to turn down, but the reality is that I expect to stay at Spurs until June, and then we will see.ai???. The Croatian is sure to stay till June and Harry Redknapp is sure to resist any offers even after that, but having said that if United do place a mega-bid, it might be hard for Spurs to refuse. But would Sir Alex spend 50 million on him, when Sneijder might be available next summer for nearly 35 million? And one cannai??i??t count Chelsea out of this yet as well, the Londoners are expected to reignite their interest next season. Far from Over!

PSG To Bid for Theo Walcott And Arsenal Considers Florent Malouda

According to latest rumours, PSG are ready to place a 18 million euros bid for Arsenal winger Theo Walcott. While reports in some other medias suggest that Arsene Wenger is considering Chelsea misfit Florent Malouda.

Going no where !

THT Verdict : There hasnai??i??t been a day in during this transfer window when PSG havenai??i??t been linked with a player. Theo Walcott is the latest name to come out of the PSG rumour mills. Walcottai??i??s season has been somewhat inconsistent to say the least, to be honest consistency is one thing he has lacked throughout his career so far. While a certain section of Gooners have already lost their faith on the young Englishman, most of them still remain hopeful that with time Walcott will fulfill his promise and become a world-class player. Most importantly Arsene Wenger hasnai??i??t lost faith in Walcott, but then it could be argued he hardly ever loses faith in his players. So any rumours regarding Arsenal desire to sell Walcott, must be taken with a pinch of salt. Walcottai??i??s contract expires in 2013 and he is expected to sign an extension soon. There are a lot of players who are destined to leave the Emirates next season, but Walcott is certain to stay. PSG might have to wait for a long time to see this Englishman in their colors.

Florent Malouda has found it hard to find a place in the team that AVB has built. It is clear that he does not feature in the long-term plans of the manager. Maloudaai??i??s contract expires this summer and any possibility of an extension looks highly unlikely. Chelsea might look to cash in on the 31-year-old Frenchman now, instead of allowing him to leave for free next season. Arsenal have been linked with a move for Malouda earlier in this transfer window, but nothing ever materialized, and it is quite hard to see anything develop now. Wenger will be skeptical about signing a player who has his best days behind him. At 31, Malouda sure brings a lot of experience, but he would be nothing more than an option off the bench for Wenger. Arsenalai??i??s headache lies at the back, and given the fact that Wenger didnai??i??t spend even when all his full backs were injured, it is hard to imagine Wenger spending now on midfielders, with Wilshere and Arteta set to return. A highly unlikely rumor!

AC Milan Blocks Maxi Lopez As A Replacement If Tevez Doesnai??i??t Come, As Catania Rejects Fulham

Catania have confirmed that AC Milan has reached an agreement with them regarding the transfer of Maxi Lopez.Ai?? The Italian giants have ai???blockedai??? Maxi Lopez in case Tevezai??i??s deal fails to materialize. Catania has also confirmed that they have rejected a bid from Fulham following this.

No clarity yet !

THT Verdict : TheAi??Carlos Tevez-Never-Ending-Soap-Opera has had new twists and turns each day of this transfer window. In the latest episode, AC Milan have booked a replacement should the Argentinean fails to arrive. Maxi Lopez is unofficially an AC Milan player now; both the clubs have reached an agreement and reports abound that Lopez will face his medical tomorrow before being unveiled. But Adriano Galliani, AC Milanai??i??s vice-president has said this to the reports : ai???If Tevez does not arrive, then Maxi Lopez will join us. Either one or the other, certainly not the two of themai???. Similarly Catania sporting director, Pietro Lo Monaco has said : ai???We have an agreement with AC Milan, but it is a timeshare arrangement: Milan have blocked Maxi Lopez, and we said no to the offer of Fulham. Now we are waiting for the Rossoneri [AC Milan], which must solve something [Tevezai??i??s deal]ai???. Only seven days remain before the transfer window closes, and it seems AC Milan are not prepared to wait till the very end. Based on the declarations from the two clubs, it is clear that AC Milan will look to sign Tevez in the next two days, and Maxi Lopez will remain on standby till then. If Manchester City and Milan fail to reach an agreement before that, Lopez will be unveiled. Confused? We don’t blame you.

Chelsea To Submit Offer for Eden Hazard After Bid For Willian Failed, As Lille Targets Marvin Martin As His Replacement

Shakhtar Donestsk CEO Sergei Palkin has confirmed that they have rejected a ai??i??20million bid from Chelsea for their hotshot Willian. Following this news, reports poured in that Chelsea are now considering a bid for Eden Hazard. Lille meanwhile are reportedly targeting Marvin Martin of Sochaux as a possible replacement for Hazard.

The Much Needed Flair !

THT Verdict : Chelsea were strongly linked with Eden Hazard a few days earlier, but since Lille were unwilling to part ways with their prized asset midway through the season, The Blues turned towards Willian of Shakhtar. Now that Shakhtar have rejected Chelseaai??i??s bid, the Londoners are back for Hazard. AVB is desperate to turn their season around and realizes that he lacks creativity and width in the midfield. Hazard brings all those to the table and more. What seems more encouraging for Chelsea fans are reports about Lille trying to sign Marvin Martin as a replacement for Hazard. This deal looks like highly likely to go through go through now. It might also depend on whether Lille is able to sign a replacement in time. Possible, is what we say.

Barcelona Choose Mats Hummels Of Borussia Dortmund As Heir To Carles Puyol

If rumors in the Spanish media are to be believed, Barcelona has already chosen their first transfer target for next season, Mats Hummels.

Heir to Puyol ?

THT Verdict : Carles Puyol has had a legendary career at Barcelona but like all good things he is nearing the end of his career. Frequent injuries have been threatening to cut short his span at the club. Barcelona have to find an heir to his throne, in the near future. While Mascherano and Abidal have done well in covering for their captain, they are not permanent solutions at the center of defense. Hummels is arguably one of the best young defenders in the world at the moment. He has risen to stardom following his fantastic performances for Dortmund. Many clubs across Europe have been linked with him at some point this season. Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus are two such names. He would be a long-term replacement for Puyol, but Barcelona will face tough competition in obtaining his signature. Sir Alex is believed to a lining up a move for the German defender as well in the summer. Dortmund are said to be expecting a price of around ai??i??15million for their man. There are few players who will resist the lure of the Camp Nou so if Barcelona does comes calling for him, smart money will be on Hummels accepting. This is one for the future!

    we need hazard !!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Argento says:

Hummels for Puyol will be outstanding. However, I’d still prefer Puyol to stay after the arrival of Hummels. The latter can learn a lot from the El Capita!

    • Amlan Majumdar says:

He certainly can ! :) Puyol will stay for One more season at least I believe, given he is doesn’t sustain any major injuries.
