Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is on Barcelona’s radar. PSG continue to raid the Serie A, as they complete their signing of AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic. TheHardTackle brings you a roundup of all the latest developments in the transfer market along with an analysis of these moves.
PSG Completes The Signing Of Zlatan Ibrahimovic And Marco Verratti
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s move to PSG was delayed only due to lack of an agreement between the player and the club over his salary, but that has finally been agreed and is rumored to be a staggering €15m per year deal. Along with Ibrahimovic, PSG have also signed Pescara’s Marco Verratti for €12m.

PSG will now boast one of the most potent attacking units across Europe, making them a considerable threat in the UEFA Champions League. Their potential ability to dominate the Ligue 1 just keeps growing with each signing and they seem like an unstoppable force in France at the moment.
How Milan will cope with the loss of Ibrahimovic is yet to be seen, but he will surely leave behind a huge void in Max Allegri’s team. Verratti’s departure from Pescara will also be a huge blow to the newly promoted side, and only time will tell whether this is the right move for the youngster.
Rafael Van der Vaart Looks Like He Will Stay At White Hart Lane
Interest in Rafael Van der Vaart has been rife with Hamburg being one of his strongest suitors. Sadly for the Bundesliga, Hamburg have been unable to put forth a good enough offer for him and interest seems to have dropped. Van der Vaart’s also recently stated his intention of staying put at Tottenham.

THT Verdict
After Chelsea’s Champions League triumph and Tottenham’s removal from the Champions League, there is no doubt that the Spurs will be keen to ensure Champions League football this year. With the managerial change, a far more attacking system will be brought into play, ensuring that Van der Vaart will be an integral part of his system. Luka Modric’s transfer out of Tottenham will also work in favor of Van der Vaart, and this seems imminent. At the moment it looks like only an immensely lucrative deal will sway the Dutchman away from White Hart Lane.
Barcelona Show Interest In Liverpool’s Daniel Agger
Barcelona and Bayern Munich were both keenly interested in Athletic Bilbao’s Javi Martinez, but the Basque club’s valuation of Martinez has put off both clubs. With Martinez off the radar, Barcelona have turned their attention Liverpool’s center back, Daniel Agger.

THT Verdict
Barcelona have been searching for a replacement for Carles Puyol ever since last summer, but the likes of Thiago Silva and Mats Hummels have eluded the Spanish giants. After having a look at the players Barcelona have been interested in, it is obvious that they are keen to get a ball playing defender. Agger fits the bill perfectly and is probably the cheapest option for the Blaugrana. With Liverpool struggling to achieve any success in England, Agger could be easily attracted by the extremely successful Catalans.
Edin Dzeko Inches Closer To Milan
Following the departure of Ibrahimovic to PSG, Milan are in search of a quality striker. Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko currently tops Milan’s list and his agent has stated that there is a 70% chance that the move will happen.

THT Verdict
Milan’s need to greatly improve their side over the summer is no hidden fact. Filling in Ibrahimovic’s boots seems almost impossible, but they will have to do their best to replace him. Dzeko is undoubtedly one of the most clinical strikers in world football at the moment and will surely be a huge bonus to Milan. Although City might be willing to sell Dzeko for a relatively small fee, the salary that the player may demand will be a problem for the financial troubled Milan side. A likely deal at the moment, but Milan’s willingness to pay is going to be the decisive factor.
