NeymarManchester City’s immensely talented attack line might be reduced in numbers this winter with Mario Balotelli set to leave the club for his home country. With City always hungry to add new names to their roster and Balotelli’s imminent departure, the club has now turned to Brazilian starlet Neymar.

City’s original choice seemed to be Atletico Madrid’s sensation, Falcao, but with Chelsea seemingly the hungrier club in the race for the Colombian, the Manchester-based outfit looks to fight for Neymar’s services along with the Spanish duo of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Neymar’s current club, Santos, must surely be resigned to their fate of losing the superstar striker in the near future and will be looking to milk clubs in the hunt for him.

Reports suggest that the Brazilian is valued at around €40m. Having shelled out €29m for Carlos Tevez, €45m for Sergio Aguero, €29.5m for Mario Balotelli and €37m for Edin Dzeko, Manchester City will not be greatly deterred by the price tag on Neymar.

Looking at the transfer from Neymar’s perspective, this seems like a decent move. Having the opportunity to grow under the tutelage of fellow South Americans, Tevez and Aguero, could be perfect for the flashy 20-year-old. Also, service from the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva will almost surely bring the best out of Neymar and provide a perfect platform for this youngster to take his game to a whole new level.

With both Neymar and Falcao coming with hefty price tags, City also have an eye on Crystal Palace’s 20-year-old gem, Wilfried Zaha. Once again, the English champions will face stiff competition in getting the striker’s signature as Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on prying Zaha away from Selhurst Park.

Zaha has been a crucial figure in Crystal Palace’s season so far, scoring five goals and providing five assist in the league. These numbers are testament to the boy’s skill and it is no surprise that the media believes that Zaha will not be leaving for anything less than €20m.
