Liverpool Look At Ba And Other Striking Options

The Senegalese striker has been in red hot form all season and reports of injury to summer recruit Fabio Borini means the Liverpool boss is looking to bolster his attack in the winter window. Liverpool have only 2 recognized senior forwards in Borini and Suarez, after having loaned out former Magpies striker Andy Carroll to West Ham United.

Yesil was brought in, but at a tender age of 17 and coming from a foreign league, the kid needs time to be in with a first team shout. Suarez has shown he does have goals in him but prefers to play off the striker, than as the main man himself. A regular goalscorer like Ba would be a perfect fit at Anfield.

The price being quoted is a lowly 7 million and should the deal take place at this low a price it shall surely be a coup for the Reds considering the sort of pedigree Ba has achieved in the past 2 years in the league.

The other striking options under consideration include the likes of Crystal Palace’s Zaha and Celtic’s Gary Hooper among others, as Rodgers specifically aims to sort out Liverpool’s weaknesses in attack.

Real Madrid Suffer Marcelo blow

Real Madrid left back Marcelo has been ruled out for three months after having broken his right foot in training with the Brazil National Team. His injury would require a surgery in all probabilities and could see him return in February. The Brazil team training in Poland ahead of their friendly against Japan have yet to name a replacement. The fitness staff would be hoping the Real Madrid star is fit and running in time for the Champions League knockout stages. Brazil doctor Pedro Lasmar has suggested a surgery but also conceded that despite a better recovery, the duration of healing would be more in case the Brazilian decides to go under the knife.

This compounds the problems for the Spanish giants, especially after their other left fullback Fabio Coentrao himself limped off the Portugal training ground with a minor knock. In the worst case neither of the two are fit in time for their match against Celta Vigo, academy product Jorge Casado would need to step up to the plate.

Arsenal Lineup Walcott Replacement As Jenkinson Trains With England

Theo Walcott has yet again been linked with a move away from the Emirates as Arsenal look to make a move for his replacement Adrian Lopez. Lopez was linked to the North London club in the summer too, but nothing materialized. With Theo not a guaranteed starter anymore and his ongoing contract issues Arsene Wenger might start looking elsewhere in order to replace the England attacker.

Theo faces two weeks out after colliding with San Marino goalkeeper in a reckless and mindless challenge. The longer his contract issue isn’t fixed, the more speculation will grow. Liverpool continue to keep tabs and other clubs will start getting interested in January, considering he would only have 6 months to run on his contract.

Meanwhile Arsenal youngster Carl Jenkinson’s superb start to the season has not gone unnoticed as he trained with the English national team on Sunday. He won’t feature in the game against Poland but remains in Roy Hodgson’s plans.

Falcao Draws Interest From Big Boys In England

Manchester United, Machester City, Chelsea, and even desperate Liverpool have all registered their interests in Radamel Falcao. The Colombian has had numerous admirers this season after constantly performing at the highest level. The Atletico Madrid forward is one of the hottest properties in Europe and will not come cheap. In fact the Atletico bosses have slapped a stunning 45 million pound price tag on him. Falcao looks to move to England after successful spells in Spain and Porto and the interest of teams like Chelsea and Man City seem realistic.

United though are no less themselves but with the likes of Rooney and Robin, there isn’t much of a scope in there. Liverpool seem to be linked with any striker that’s on the move and this is just another one of those exact situations. In the end it might just come to the player and his decision on where he would like to play.

His qualities are out there for everyone to see, and his brilliant finishing could win any team lots of points. Tied as the top goalscorer in La Liga with Ronaldo and Messi speaks for itself and whichever club signs him, will get hold of a priceless commodity.
