Mohun Bagan’s Brazilian duo Jose Ramirez Barreto and Hudson Lima will be out for at least three to four weeks. Coach Subrata Bhattacharya stated that he expected the two players to miss out IFA Shield as well as remaining Kolkata Football League matches. The club is also set to send a letter to AIFF to release Rahim Nabi, who is injured for two weeks right now, from AFC Chanllenge Cup preparation camp. Click here to read club’s official statement.
IFA is trying to conclude Kolkata Football League between 24th February and 1st March. A number of clubs are involved in I-League Division Two currently so IFA had to reschedule KFl matches. Meanwhile, Pune FC, Lajong FC and former champions Churchill Brothers have reportedly agreed to participate in IFA Shield.
East Bengal can face sanctions from AIFF after comment by one of their officials after the Kolkata derby on 4th February. The official reportedly said that the match comissioner was “a Mohun Bagan supporter”. The club also sent a complaint letter to AIFF regarding the same. AIFF is reportedly unompressed by East Bengal’s stance on this issue and can take this matter to a disciplinary committee.
Manchester United Soccer School has began operations in Cooperage Stadium, Mumbai. Trainees will have to pay Rs. 12,500 in order to enroll in this school. Close to 300 pupils have enrolled in the school till now and they practiced with Denis Irwin and Quinton Fortune on Cooperage’s artificial turf on Wednesday. Chris O’Brien will be the overseeing coach of this school.

There was some controversy in USFC and Green Valley’s match on Wednesday. Captain Baichung Bhutia reportedly elbowed Green Valley’s Amal Ghosh but was surprisingly not carded by the referee. Green Valley players surrounded the referee and complained against this decision. The match comissioner’s report contains complaint about several players including Baichung, who may face punishments.
Pune FC ‘A’ team’s encounter against Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club in semi-final of Aaha Gold Cup has been postponed to be played on Friday due to a water logged pitch.
