Lajong FC has broken new grounds as they become the first Indian club to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Anglian Holdings, a multi-national company held by NRI Uday Narang has bought stakes in the North Eastern club. Anglian Holdings also part owner of Danish club FCV Vikings and there might be a collaboration between two clubs.
Dempo have almost wrapped up a third successive Goan title after a thumping 7-0 win over Vasco on Wednesday. Dempo fielded a strong squad against Vasco, who had rested most of their first team players due to I-League Division Two, and raced to a 4-0 lead in first half with braces from Koko Sakibu and Ranty Martins. Ranty scored two more goals in second half with Climax Lawrence adding another. After this win Dempo lead the table with 25 points. Salgaocar can still finish level on points with Dempo if they win their last match on Friday but it is improbable that the Goan Greens will overtake Dempo’s +20 goal difference.
Mohun Bagan has decided to not participate in this year’s IFA Shield owning to squad constraints. The club informed the same to IFA in a letter. Meanwhile, club legend Jose Ramirez Barreto has given indications that he might join a Goan club next season in case Mohun Bagan don’t choose to retain his services.

Global beverages and snacks major PepsiCo today launched its first football advertisement campaign in the country featuring Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor to cash in on the gaining popularity of sport in India.
The company, which had earlier been associated with sports like cricket, has for the first time announced its association with football in India, the company said in a statement.
Seventh edition of Abhijit Kadam Memorial Cup will be held in Pune between March 3rd and March 11th. Six teams will take part in the tournament including three I-League clubs – Prayag United, Air India and Mumbai FC as well as PIFA Colaba, Amanora Deccan XI and SESA Football Academy.
