An Aizawl FC fan succumbed to a tragic death after Aizawl FC’s second division match with Southern Samity. He fell from the stands after the match and was rushed to a nearby hospital in Silchar but he could not be saved. Aizawl FC has decided to wear belack jerseys in memory of the deceased fan when they take to field to play next I-League Div-2 match.

Bengali paper Sangbad Pratidin reports that Techno Aryan officials are planning to not play their remaining I-League Division two matches as a mark of protest against refereeing decisions. In terms of table positions, Aryan is already out of the race to qualify to main round. Some other sources are however reporting that it was Aryan coach Raghu Nandi who directed a torrent of abuses towards the match commissioner during their controversial match against Royal Wahingdoh. The actual story still remains unclear.

AIFF and Sports Authority of India (SAI) are on collision course after the latter declined to fund India’s tour of Dubai at the very last moment. Deepak Verma, Director General of SAI had this to say, “We are not funding their (preparatory) trip as it is not our priority at the moment. Our main priority is Olympics and we are providing all the financial assistance to those who have already qualified or are medal hopefuls”. An irate Kushal Das stated that he would be writing to Indian Sports Ministry regarding this issue.

AIFF is investigating the matches played by Korean club Hallelujah FC in Goa, Mumbai and Kerala few weeks back. The Federation has inquired with Korean football association to check if Hallelujah FC’s tour was given an official clearance. If the club didn’t have an official clearance then AIFF can take diciplinary action against them and report them to AFC. Most surprisingly, AIFF officials reportedly said that they were not even aware of Hallelujah FC’s tour despite the matches being widely reported in Goan newspapers.

Kerala Government has agreed to extend support to state football association’s efforts to host matches of U17 FIFA World Cup, should it be held in India eventually.
