In a last ditch effort to save Premier League Soccer IFA has devised a unique work-around of associating name of each franchisee with clubs from fifth division Kolkata League and Nursery Leagues. South Folk club will be renamed Euro Musketeers, Illisium Club will be renamed after Howrah franchisee, Evergreen Club will be renamed as Siliguri Bengal Tuskers, Kasba Samannay’s new name will be Haldia Heroes while Central Calcutta Veteran’s Club will be renamed after Kolkata franchisee. Durgapur Vox will be the new name of Dutta Bagan Satadal Club. After changing of names these clubs will be registered with IFA on coming Tuesday. Each club will be getting Rs. 1 lakh for the tie-up.

The seasonal tradition of a coach parting his ways with Churchill Brothers seem to be continuing this season as Portuguese coach Manuel Gomes is reportedly on the verge of resignation. He was publicly berated by Alemao Churchill after losing to Mumbai FC in last round. Alemao reportedly questioned Gomes’ credentials as coach and his coaching methods.
