Kick off.

′: No goals yet, both teams have started cautiously.

′: First attacking move of the match…Ashim’s cross fails to reach Odafa.

′: East Bengal’s loss earlier today has given a golden chance to Mohun Bagan to move into top-3.

′ : Still no goals..

′ :Chirag has enjoyed more possession but have failed to use it.

′ :This has been a cagey affari till now. Neither team’s midfield have started well.

 Zeleny shoots..way off target.

′: Half an hour gone, no goals.

′: Good shot from Vneeth, equally good save from Sangram.

′: Barreto passes to Odafa but the Nigerian fails to time his run perfectly and is flagged off.

′: GOOOAAAALLLL !!! Yes, it is that man again !! Odafa converts a calm spot kick to put Bagan ahwad.

′: Mohun Bagan still one up as we approach half time.

′: First yellow card of the match for Ashim Biswas.

HT : Chirag Kerala 0-1 Mohun Bagan :: Not an inspiring half of football by any means but Mohun Bagan will not complain as they have the lead.

′: Second half kicks off. This will be a crucial half of football for the Green & Maroons.

′: GOOOAAAALLLL !!! Mohun Bagan’s infamous defence is the culprit again. Chirag equalize through Anil Kumar. Disappointing marking from Bagan defence to say the least.

′: Mohun Bagan’s defence has been shaky throughout the season and have rarely kept clean sheets. Quite an ironic fact when you consider that they are coached by one of finest defenders ever to play in India.

′: That goal seems to have buoyed Chirag who now have the crowd support behind them.

′: Vineeth is caught offside, tight call.

′: Score is even at the hour mark. Teams are matching each other blow by blow now.

′: Mohun Bagan midfield not having the best of days…Odafa is starved of service up front.

′: Timely save from Sangram to deny Anil Kumar. Chirag is looking more and more dangerous now.

′: Barreto !He did well to reach Surkumar’s cross but failed to direct the header past Chirag ‘keeper.

′: As usual, the veteran Barreto shows tremendous love for the Green & Maroon jersey. He is back on the field despite injuring his head.

′: Odafa takes a shot, wide of the mark.

′: 20 minutes left. Are we going to have a winner in this match? Two teams have cancelled each other out there..

′: Another chance for Odafa but he shoots over the goal.

′: Bhattacharya can be seen prowling along the touchline anxiously.

′: 15 minutes to go. Score is still 1-1.

′: Manish Bhargav has replaced Ashim for Bagan.

′: Ten minutes to go, both teams are trying hard to score a second goal.

′: Surprising change for Bagan as Pradeep replaces Jewel Raja. Perhaps Bhattacharya did this sub keeping an eye on the Kolkata derby for next round. Jewel was one yellow card away from missing that game.

′: What a MISS !! Barreto had a free header but failed to hit the target.

′: This match is heading for a down the wire finish ! Neither team has looked to settle for a point…

′: GOOOAAAALLLLL !!!! It is Odafa Okalie from the spot once again !!! That is why Mohun Bagan spent a fortune to get him in the team !!!

′: Full credit to the Nigerian for the goal. His brilliant back-volley hit Jimshad’s hand as referee pointed to the spot. Odafa with another cool finish to make it 2-1. What a player he is !! Jimshad was sent off for Chirag Kerala.

′: GOOOOAAAAALLLLL !!!! Barreto makes up for his previous miss and scores his second goal in consecutive games. Game, set, match !! Meanwhile, Chirag lose Faisal and are down to nine men.

FT: Chirag United 1-3 Mohun Bagan :: A huge, huge victory for the Mariners today. Both Odafa and Barreto got on the scoresheet and the team will go in confident in next round’s big Kolkata derby.
