Its halftime at the other group b encounter between DPR Korea and Tajikistan.

DPR Korea is leading by solitary goal thanks to an early strike by Nam- Chol I Pak in the fourth minute.

Meanwhile, the Indian U-13 girl’s team blasted nine past the Palestine side in their opening encounter of the on going  AFC U-13 Girls Football Fest in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

History is on India’s side, both the teams have met thrice with Indian emerging victorious in two out of these three matches as one ended in a draw. India has scored 8 goals against Philippines in those three matches while Philippines has scored only 2.

The teams are walking on the pitch as I type.

Its a virtually empty Dasarath Stadium as national anthem of Philippines begins.

Indian national anthem ends with the camera focusing on Indian skipper Sunil Chhetri. India are in their tradional blue jersey while Philippines are wearing an all white.

′: Kick off as the referee whistles after some hesitations.

′: Philippines are playing from left to right.

′: Free Kick to the Philippines, but the shot is headed away from inside the Indian box by the Indian defenders.

′: Goal Kick to India.

′: Now India’s on the attack but Nabi’s cross picks up a deflection.

′: India again, Oh but the shot is over the crossbar. Abranches had laid down the ball for Vashum but his shot went a little over the crossbar as Etheridge  shouts towards his defenders for letting Vashum roam freely near their box.

′: GOALLL!! Philippines score.

′: India were unable to clear a throw in, as the ball landed in the feet of Philip Younghusband who slotted the ball inside’s India’s goal with a sea on blue defenders watching helplessly. Another defensive howler early in the match and yet another goal conceded. This has been the story of Indian football team for some time now.

′: India try to get back in the very next minute by Francis’s shot is well wide. So far both the Indian shots have been off target while Philippines have taken just one shot on goal and have scored from it.

′: The Azkals get a corner; it is cleared uncomfortably by the Indian backline as Karanjit had to come off his line and punch it away.

′: Nabi crosses to Sunil, but defenders head it away.

′: The Azkals are not settling for a one goal advantage as a wonderful long ball is sent inside’s Indian box but Caligdong is caught offside.

′: Freekick for India in the opponents half. Chhetri takes it rather quickly but it is of no use as the shot goes off target; YET AGAIN.

′: Suddenly it is the Indian team who have been enjoying the lion’s share of possession.

′: Yet another free kick to India. This is do or die situation foe both the teams.

′: Filipino captain James Younghusband sends in a beautiful long ball inside India’s hald but his brother Phil is unable to make use of the cross as Karanjit comes to the rescue of the Indian team.

′: Freekick to Philippines as Adil Khan fouls Aldeguer. And it is still 1-0 to Philippines.

′: Nabi it is still Nabi on the left flank for India, and the ball is snatched away from him before he could cross it inside.

′: Yet another corner for the Azkals, cleared by the blue tigers.

′: SUB – INDIA: Adil comes off for Jewel Raja. Tgis looks like a tactical change

′: Why was Jewel not named in the starting eleven is very difficult to understand.

′: And Philippines almost double their lead in the same manner as they got the first goal. A throw in by Sabio and the ball falls for an unmarked Phil Younghusband whose shot is over the crossbar.

′: Indian defense is in sixes and sevens. They seemed to have learnt absolutely nothing from the howlers they have committed in the recent past.

′: Abranches!!! Good shot by the ball is collected by Neil Etheridge with an ease. At least India is showing some intent now.

′: Lamare takes the shot now; but his shot gets blocked.

′: It is still India 0 – 1 Philippines

′: Phil Younghusband almost scores his second for the evening as Karanjit makes a miraculous save, only to find out that the offiside flag was raised by the linesman.

′: Another corner for the Azkals, Gourmangi heads it clear.

+1′: Abranches gives away yet another free kick to the Filipinos. This has been the half of free kicks. Phil Younghusband takes the shot, but the ball goes straight in the grasp of Karanjit.

+1′: Referee blows for the Half Time.

HT: It’s India 0 – 1 Philippines.

Savio Mederia really needs to inspire his team during the break.  A loss here will knock the Indians out of the tournament. The Azkals on the other hand are set to gift their German coach a nice birthday gift as they look well on course to pick up their first win of the tournament.

′: Second half begins.

′: India are straight away on the offensive. They really have to play a gem of a half if they want to remain active in the 2012 AFC Challenger Cup.

′: Nabi crosses from the left wing and finds Chhetri but the captain’s header is off target.

′: Gourmangi to the rescue. Caligdong foxed Samir Naik with his pace but just when he was about to take the shot Gourmangi’s tackle clears the danger for India.

′: And Karanjit makes a horrible mistake, he must thank his lucky stars that the Filipino strikers were unable to make his mistake count. The Indian goalkeeper gives away the ball straight to the forward line of the Philippines but the miss an easy opportunity to go up by two goals.

′: SUB- PHILIPPINES: Caligdong is taken off for Bahadoran.

′: Vashum makes a hash of a golden opportunity inside the Azkals box. Will India look back upon this chance if they are knocked out of the tournament? Possibly yes. He should have buried the ball from this distance. Abranches has set him up perfectly but Vashum fails to get to the ball in the end.

′: India continues to play loosely in the final third of the pitch as Philippines wins yet another ball inside the half of the Mederia’s men.

′: We are just half an hour away from the final whistle. India needs to get some urgency in their play.

′: Chhetri collides with a Filipino defender. Both are lying  down on the pitch.

′: Chhetri is back on this feet but the Filipino defender is stretchered off.

′: Throw in for India. Taken by Raju who is known for his long throws but his throw is headed away.

′: Abranches stamps on Bahadoran and is booked by the referee . Yellow for Abranches.

′: Lamare’s freekick goes inches wide. India almost equalized.

′: SUB-INDIA: Vashum makes way for Sushil Singh.

′: Phil Younghusband scores again!!. 2-0 to Philippines. This could very well be the final nail in the Indian team’s coffin.

′: It looks pretty much over for the blue tigers. A neat one to one play between the brothers Phil and James Younghusband resulted in Phil scoring his and Philippines second goal of the evening.

′: Indians have been all over the place during this entire match a very poor performance by the SAFF champions.

′: Chhetri lets one fly from just outside the box but it goes sttraight into the gloves of Neil Etheridge.

′: Phil Younghusband is a product of Chelsea’s youth academy and he has taught a football-ing lesson to the Indian back line today.

′: SUB- PHILIPPINES: Aldeguer OFF, Angeles ON

′: Bahadoran takes a shot but it is well wide off the target.

′: We are just few minutes away from the final whistle and unless Indian scores two quick goals they will be out of the tournament.

′: OH WHATA MISS!! Sunil Chhetri misses what can be easily called as the chance of the match. The Indian skipper received the ball from Sushil Singh from the right wing and had a open goal but he shot it over the crossbar.

′: The fourth official signals that three minutes will be added on.

+2′: Free Kick to India. Samir Naik takes it but Abranches heads it off target.

+3′: Referee blows the final whistle/ It all over for India.

FT: India 0-2 Philippines.

A brace from Phil Younghusband gave Philippines their first win of the tournament but most importantly keeps them alive in the 2012 AFC Challenger Cup. India on the other hand were beaten fair and square and hardly played like a unit. In their last group match India will take on DPR Korea who have already made it to the semi finals after they defeated Tajikistan by the same margin 2-0 earlier today.

That is all from our side. Thanks for staying with us- Thehardtackle  for the score updates. We will bring you the updates for India’s match against DPR Korea on 13th of March from 16:30 IST onwards.

Good night everyone this is Sachin Madaan signing off.
