Inquizitivity – Quiz 22

Question 1:

A’ was bought in to English Football by a very successful Premier League manager. ‘A’ has spent most of his years in London for three different clubs except for a two years spell at Southampton. He has played just 28 matches for his country in 9 years. He recently played against his former club in a league match but not in the same stadium he played for the club 14 years back.

Question 2:

‘B’ was one of the club managers for which ‘A’ played for. During his playing days, ‘B’ was a prolific player for one of the London clubs. He had later managed that club for two years. Quite an underrated player, he has been famously appreciated by Arsene Wenger as well as Michael Platini. An attacking midfielder in his days, he represented the country 53 times.

Question 3:

C’ is the only player to have won FIFA World Player of the Year and has never represented his country in the World Cup. He played alongside ‘B’ at a French club. ‘C’ was signed by the same manager who signed ‘A’ once for a different club though. A charismatic player of his time, ‘C’ is now a politician in his homeland.

Question 4:

D’ played 15 years at his local club which included a few loan spells. Always playing as a Center Back, he was captain of his club for many years. He formed a deadly defensive partnership with his country centre-back in the Euro 2000. He was involved in a controversial incident with ‘C’ when the latter punched his nose in the player’s tunnel.

Question 5:

E’ played most of his club career in the club where ‘D’ ended his career. He spent the last few years as captain of the club. He represented his club a record number of times. He is considered as probably the greatest player to play for his country where he is a manager now.
